Cold at the Moment

As with the rest of the UK, up here in North Scotland we are getting a fair bit of snow.  The roads are a bit sketchy and people drive like idiots.  So my daily commute to work, despite the cold has continued by bike.  Mainly for the reason I am really enjoying the route I take to BP, but also the van turns into an 18foot toboggan in the snow which is rather scary

The bike was being held up by the snow!

Thew road was very snowy and was a bit like riding on sand at some points, but with slowing down and being careful it is more than manageable.  Luckily the roads I ride on are super quiet and I only pass about 3 cars in 20 odd minutes of riding.

It is still a better way to get to work than driving and gives me an excuse to wear loads of tight fitting clothing!

First Winter Outing 09/10 season

With it being December and all, it was about time it snowed and we got out in the mountains to start off this winters activities. We decided that a walk would be better than anything more strenuous as the forecast for the day was not great. So we went off to walk up a couple of Munros that we had not done before.
Drove to Glenshee, met Matt and Emma in the car park and set off.

There was not quite as much snow as I had expected, but enough to make it a bit more interesting than just a walk.
Started off quite nice, but soon the weather closed in and navigation was required rather than looking at your goal.

We managed to ge to the top of two Munros Carn nan Sac and Carn a Gheoidh (give you a quid if you can pronounce them!)

The four of us at the top, didn’t sit around for long as it was cold

A lovely day and a good start to winter for us, not a single blister! Finished off with a bit of shop browsing in Braemar browsing fat skis for our up and coming trip back to India……..

All the photos are in the gallery.

Dave should not be allowed posh phones

SO I decided it was time to join the 21st century.  I thought it was time for me to move away from my £30 pay as you go phones, and get one that does everything known to man.

So I got my self an Iphone on Wednesday.  Thursday I did this:

Dropped the dam thing.  Hmmmmm – I should not be allowed things that are expensive and fragile.

So – we are back.

New and improved.  Decided that I enjoyed writing the honeymoon blog.  Had a word with my local IT expert (Matt) and a couple of weeks later he has amazingly wiped me up a website with a blog and bolted my photo page together.

So there you have it  Muddymess is born – my photo gallery is on the right hand side of the main page.

This is where I will write about our doings and pictures.  So when you are bored and have nothing better to do with your time, you can come here to fill up your time.
